Having an idle fluctuation long time ago and decided to do a smoke test. Setup is very basic,
- make an opposite located 2 hole around top side of a empty collector cleaner spray can,
- connect 2 hoses, 1 will blow air and other will be connected to the intake manifold, via MAP sensor hose nozzle.
- pour some light oil into and hook it above head, blow it using propane torch. It will make a smoke I need.
found a leak on TPS, just behind a big coil spring of throttle body. Immediately googled it and found a nice video instruction from Rusty 411 's Youtube channel.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASvpGGE-XHU
Checked throttle shaft and there was a play. I had a set of o-rings for AC, there was 4 o-rings which a need. Dimensions are 12.7mm OD, 9.5mm ID, 1.5875 diameter (1/2 OD, 3/8 ID 1/16 diameter).
Followed the video instruction, removed shaft and there were 2 grooves at both end. Sanded down them and sharp end of shaft.
Removed old seals, they were brittle and dry.
Pushed bearing all the way to outside and inserted 2 o-rings with some EP2 grease
other side
assembled back, cleaned with a carb cleaner and ready to install
Did a PCM reset and started. After a few engine On and Off cycles, idle became more nice, almost no fluctuation. Will see consumption.
